A funeral at the local Marae brought us to Tuakau for the first time. I drove into "town" & asked at the pharmacy about accomodation - the only place in Tuakau itself was "the Pub". Dreading a noisy stay above drunks in the bar, I was pleasantly surprised by the modern, clean rooms. I needed a disabled room for a family member and were given 2 choices, one upstairs with a lift and a ground floor room, which we chose. The heat pump kept us toasty and warm, good disabledfacilities in the bathroom plus 3 single beds provided. The restaurant on premises was excellent, great food at reasonable prices - especially the lamb hotpot which was the special of the day. And to top it all off, no sound of drunken revelry; we slept well. Would definitely stay again.
