Our safaris are definitely suitable for manual wheelchair users. Unfortunately electric wheelchairs are too large for us to lift and fit onto the boat so we ask that lightweight, manual wheelchairs are generally fine. The maximum width of the wheelchair to be able to lift it onto the boat is 670mm.
The view area for wheelchair users is restricted to the lower deck at the back where there is ample space to move to and from each side of the boat to view the dolphins and whales. Often the back of the boat is one of the best viewing areas as dolphins will tend to surf our wake.
If a caregiver is required to accompany the passenger, we can offer their ticket (the caregiver) free of charge.
Our boat is split level with a small staircase to access the upper level. Access to the front of the boat is via a ramp and there are railings all the way around the boat to hold on to. There is also plenty of seating on both levels. Dependent on the weather conditions, a safari may or may not be suitable for such passengers to be walking around the boat although we can assist as much as possible to aid the customer to a seat where they can get the best view possible without risking any accidents.
On the lower level there is ample seating outside for wheelchair users that can transfer their own body weight.
